55 Years of Research at the “Biotechnika” Institute of Engineering and Technology: Achievements and Prospects

Researchers from the “Biotechnika” Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, together with scientists from other institutions, are participating in the Second International Competition for Innovative Projects, the “Melville–Sikorsky Challenge Accelerator.” The competition is organized by Melville Sikorsky CA Limited (Edinburgh, United Kingdom) in collaboration with the Sikorsky Challenge Innovation Holding and the innovation ecosystem of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The “Biotechnika” Institute of Engineering and Technology sincerely congratulates Lyudmila Lyudvigovna Loban, head of the Research Sector for Microorganism Master Cultures No. II-2, on her distinguished 80th birthday. We wish her good health, peace, the warmth of family, prosperity, boundless energy, inspiration in her work, success in all her endeavors, and many happy years to come.

Vladislav Yaroshevsky, Director of the “Biotechnika” ITI of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, participated in a meeting of the Presidium Bureau of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine to discuss the pressing issue of “Developing Balanced Farming Systems in Ukraine’s Steppe Region in the Context of Climate Change.”

On July 10, 2026, leading researchers from the “Biotechnika” Engineering and Technology Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences, together with colleagues from the I. I. Mechnikov Odessa National University, conducted experimental studies of biological products for protecting plants against pathogens using state-of-the-art scientific equipment at the ONU Center for Shared Use.

Staff members of the “BIOTECHNIKA” Engineering and Technology Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS) participated in a roundtable discussion on the topic: “Biological Protection of Agrosystems—A Strategy for Transition to the ‘European Green Deal,’” hosted by the Institute of Plant Protection.

The “Biotechnika” Engineering and Technology Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences hosted a practical seminar on the ethics of using artificial intelligence in scientific research

This workshop focuses on the current challenges of using generative artificial intelligence in research and academic writing.

On June 4, 2026, leading researchers from the “Biotechnika” Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS) participated in the International Field Day “Innovations in Agriculture: Scientific Approaches for Sustainable Development,” organized the Institute of Climate-Oriented Agriculture of the NAAS and the Odessa State Agricultural Research Station of the Institute of Climate-Oriented Agriculture of the NAAS at the institution’s experimental fields in the village of Khlibodarske.

On June 3, 2026, leading researchers from the ITI “Biotechnika” of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences participated in the International Field Day “Crop Resources: From Classics to Exotics,” organized by the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetics and the National Center for Seed Science and Variety Research of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences on the institute’s premises in Odessa.

On May 28, 2026, researchers from the “Biotenika” Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine participated in the 25th International Scientific Conference on Engineering for Rural Development

On May 27, 2026, Vladislav Yaroshevsky, Director of the Institute, attended a meeting of the Presidium of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine to discuss the issue of “Scientific and technical support for the greening of agriculture”

On May 20, 2026, the “Biotechnika” Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS) participated in the “Agro Challenge 2026” Field Day as part of the scientific institutions of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.

On May 16, 2026, researchers from the Biotechnika Engineering and Technology Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and the F.D. Ovcharenko Institute of Biocolloid Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine organized and held a roundtable discussion titled “Scientific Foundations of the Biologization and Ecologization of Agriculture.”
