55 Years of Research, Innovation, and Development in the Biologization of Agriculture: ITI “Biotechnika” International Scientific Conference of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine
On September 22–23, 2026, an international scientific conference was held to mark the 55th anniversary of the “Biotechnika” Engineering and Technology Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine—titled “55 Years of Research at the ‘Biotechnika’ Engineering and Technology Institute: Achievements and Prospects.”
The event brought together representatives of Ukraine’s academic community and international researchers working in the fields of biological agriculture, biological plant protection, microbial technologies, and engineering support for agricultural science. Representatives of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, higher education institutions, and research organizations from Ukraine and Moldova—Andriy DORONIN, Tudor NASTAS, Andriy SHTYRBU, Alla STOYANOVA, and Volodymyr BULGAKOV—delivered welcoming remarks to the conference participants. During the plenary session, presentations were given by Olga TERTICHNA, director of the NAAS Institute of Agricultural Microbiology and Agroindustrial Production, as well as Vladislav YAROSHEVSKY, director of the NAAS “Biotechnika” Engineering and Technological Institute, who presented a report titled “The ‘Biotechnika’ Engineering and Technological Institute—55 Years: History and the Present.”
Four thematic sections were held as part of the conference.
Section I, “Engineering Support for the Biologization of Agriculture,” chaired by NAAS Academician Volodymyr BULGAKOV, featured presentations by researchers from the NAAS “Biotechnika” Engineering and Technology Institute and representatives of partner institutions. Olena NIKIPELOVA, Iryna CHERNOVA, Iryna DOLZHIKOVA, Ihor PODMAZKO, and Kostiantyn ZAGORODNYUK presented their research.
Section II, “Mass Cultivation and Use of Phytophages and Entomoacariphages,” chaired by Professor Tetiana MARKINA, was devoted to current research in the field of biological plant protection. Representatives from the Institute of Genetics, Physiology, and Plant Protection at the State University of Moldova, the “Biotechnika” Research Institute of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS), and the Institute of Climate-Oriented Agriculture of the NAAS of Ukraine participated in the section’s proceedings.
Section III, “Production and Use of Microbial Preparations for the Biologization of Agriculture,” chaired by Professor Olena NIKIPELOVA, presented research findings in the field of developing and applying microbial technologies. Speakers included Olga ONYSHCHENKO, Nina PYLYAK, Svitlana SEMENENKO, as well as representatives from other scientific institutions in Ukraine. Section IV, “Theoretical and Practical Aspects of the Biologization of Agriculture,” chaired by Professor Yuriy KLECHKOVSKYI, was devoted to theoretical and applied issues in the development of organic agriculture. Presentations were given by Olga GULICH and Iryna CHERNOVA. The results presented at the conference reflect the key directions of modern agricultural science and innovative developments aimed at making agriculture in Ukraine more environmentally friendly and biologically oriented in the face of current challenges. The 55th anniversary of the ITI “Biotechnika” marks a history of scientific research, technological solutions, and contributions to the development of sustainable agricultural production.
